TRANS VOICES is the UK’s first professional trans+ vocal collective, blending meditative soundscapes, choral tradition, emerging technology, and bold vocal experimentation to reclaim spaces where trans perspectives are rarely heard. Founded by Ilā Kamalagharan (ILĀ) and Coda Nicolaeff as part of the London Contemporary Voices family, the collective is known for its innovative approach to choral music celebrating the unique qualities of trans voices.

TRANS VOICES is currently featured in the Barbican’s flagship summer 2025 exhibition Feel the Sound with UN/BOUND (TRANS VOICES, ILĀ, and MONOM), an immersive sound installation shaped by quantum technology and artificial intelligence that asks what is sacrificed and what is reclaimed in the pursuit of liberation and self-determination.

TRANS VOICES is available for performances, collaborations, commissions, and workshops. Get in touch.
